Editing of Memento

Memento starts with the camera on an extreme close up of a hand holding a photo that appears to show a murder scene. The hand starts to shake the photo and it fades, this shows us that this clip is in reverse. The next shot shows a close up of the killer taking a picture of his victim, he then lowers the camera and the expression on his face is that of what you would expect a normal killers emotions to be, this killer looks upset by the fact hes killed man. The next shot is a close up o see him putting the camera away (but remeber its in reverse so he would in real time be taking it out). Next shot the blood

How Sexuality Is Represented In The Skins Opening

This scene starts with i close up on a male character, his eyes give me the impression that he is in deep thought. As the camera moves out the character does not move a single muscle. The camera then reveals his quilt, his quilt has a naked man and a naked woman printed on it. This shows me that he is quite confident, the reason i think this is because he looks like an age where he is still at home living with his parents and to have a quilt that two naked people on in sight of your parents you have to be a bit of rebel, or you have to be really open with your parents. The other veiw on this is that maybe he is bisexual, he is lay intbetween both of the naked people not taking either side, also his shadow is on both sides of the bed this could show that he is bisexual.
He looks like he has been up all night, i can tell this because he looks in deep thought that early in the morning and the curtains are open and not many people can get sleep with the curtains open. The church bells are ringing this could enthasis the point that he is Bisexual, which goes against chrisitanity. Also church bells symbolise a sunday morning in England so this will ask the veiwer a question, what is he doing up that early on a sunday morning?

Different Sound Techniques

Diegetic – Natural sound within a scene
Non-diegetic – Sound added to a scene – Soundtrack
                             Potential problem – less realistic
                                Potential benefit – More dramatic
Sound Bridge – sound which carries on over two scenes,
Literally creating a “bride” between events!
Incidental Music – Short sequence of sound to create an emotion/feeling.
Asynchronous Sound – A “Natural sound out of place + without a source.
Contrapuntal – sounds which creates an opposite emotion to the one on screen.

Stereotypical Class and Status Character

For my character that represents Class and status i have chosen Vicky Pollard from Little Britain. She is a working class female, in most of her appearances within the show she is always arguing. She speaks really poor English, using no punctuation or full stops and uses slag allot. She backchats whoever and no one can make he be quite. Vicky comes across as a violent and dirty minded female by some of the things she says within the show. she is defiantly a dominate character, and the majority of people she argues with are intimidated by her. She is presented in a comedic way but there are still a lot of stereotypes that are used within this character.
Focusing on Vicky’s Appearance she is not attractive in the slightest and the way she is presented is not at all attractive either this could mean that people think that the working class are un-attractive or she is just presented in this way as a unique case. She wears a pink track suit which is the "chav" stereotype; her appearance just generally makes her look like she has an attitude.

Analysis Of Eva Mendes.

How does Calvin Klein represent females here in the above advert? Are they objectified or sexually empowered?

This picture is obviously meant to catch the eyes of the male gender. However, the way Eva Mendes is stood she looks powerful and stable so this picture also appeals to women. In the image she is stood with legs apart which backs up my point about how it would appeal to women, it could give them the idea that if they brought this underwear it would make them superior to men. Also if you look at where the shot is taken from its from a low angle, this makes Eva look more powerful but still in a way that men will find attractive. She has her hands on her hip, this to me either tells me shes cross (which i don't think is the case) or she has a bit of attitude. However it could also follow on from the point that she is stood in a powerful stance. Eva's hair is damp which you would think she has just had a shower; the majority of women have showers at night or in the morning. Looking at Eva it looks like she is ready to go out, she has high heels on, this is not morning behaviour. For single women they could aspire to Eva because she is not married (No wedding ring) yet she could appear to be going out with her friends, out on a date, out of a meal, which can teach single women never to give up on going out or getting dates and even maybe you don’t need a partner to be happy seems as Eva on this picture is showing teeth which either means she looks aggressive or happy (Chocolate Box). Males opinion on this picture of Eva i think will be slightly different. The males would think about buying the underwear for there partner for the hopes that they will look like Eva when they wear it. Also the picture draws attention to the pants by the hands pointing in the direction of the pants, they made the bra plain so it doesn't take the attention of the product that Calvin Klein is trying to sell. They have put suspenders of Eva this does not come with the project they used it because it then makes it more appealing to the male gender because it shows a more sexy Eva, in comparison to a more aggressive, dominant Eva.
In conclusion i do think this would appeal more to men, the way Eva stands could be looked at by both women and men in their own ways but i do think it appeals more to men. She does look like she is being used as an object more than a role model in my opinion. To me it looks like the picture is meant to get the Males attention even before they know what product they are looking at. It is a good use of the "Male Gaze" by Calvin Klein.
